WAI CHING HO, DAREDEVIL AND IRON FIST ACTRESS, DIES AGED 82
Wai Ching Ho, a Hong Kong-born actress known for roles in Marvel television series, died on 10 July from a stroke, according to reports. Ho portrayed Madame Gao across Daredevil, Iron Fist and The Defenders. A representative for the actress confirmed her death in a statement, saying her family were grateful for support received following her passing.
Ho's career spanned multiple decades and mediums. She made her United States film debut in 1990 in Cadillac Man alongside Robin Williams. Her subsequent film and television appearances included The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Set It Up, Hustlers, Law & Order, Flight Of The Conchords and Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens. She also appeared in the Pixar film Turning Red and provided voice work for the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Ho performed on stage in Endlings, directed by Celine Song.
Former colleagues shared tributes following her death. Daredevil co-star Peter Shinkoda wrote on Instagram that he had learned from Ho both on and off set. Actor Perry Yung described her as a kind and compassionate person whose work elevated every production she was part of. Yung noted that Ho had performed on stage multiple times and had worked with him on the film High Resolution.
