ABERDEEN SIGN LEWIS SMITH FROM LIVINGSTON

Aberdeen have signed Lewis Smith from Livingston on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old winger joins as a replacement for Topi Keskinen, who has moved to Odense. Manager Stephen Robinson stated that Aberdeen faced significant competition to secure Smith's signature after identifying him as a priority target.

Smith made 40 appearances for Livingston last season, scoring seven goals and providing 12 assists across 81 total matches for the club. Livingston finished bottom of Scotland's top flight and were relegated. Robinson said he had previously attempted to sign Smith whilst managing other clubs but lacked the financial resources to complete a deal. Robinson noted that Smith's performance data placed him among the best wide players in the Premiership last season.

Smith made his Hamilton Academical debut at Pittodrie and stated he believes he has "a lot more to give" for his new club. He spent two years at Livingston after joining from Hamilton. Robinson described Smith as an energetic, attack-minded winger who is comfortable with either foot and carries a goal threat. Livingston sporting director David Martindale indicated that the transfer reflected the club's player trading model.
