PODCAST EXPLORES EXISTENTIAL THREAT TO LUTE, MUSIC CRITIC SAYS

Ruby Tandoh has produced a podcast portrait of the lute, documenting what the food writer and music enthusiast describes as an existential threat to the musical instrument. The podcast presents a tender examination of the lute's precarious position. Tandoh's work forms part of an indie audio magazine that brings together documentaries across varied subjects.

The audio magazine is defined by its experimental approach to documentary storytelling. The publication combines programmes of differing stripes united by a sense of experimentation. Tandoh's lute documentary sits alongside other content within the broader collection.

The audio magazine also features a celebration of the outdoors presented by Caitlin Moran and Adam Frost. The podcast series demonstrates the format's capacity to explore both cultural and natural subjects through long-form audio storytelling. The publication continues to release new documentary content across its catalogue.
