SINNER WINS WIMBLEDON MEN'S FINAL, PRINCESS OF WALES PRESENTS TROPHY

MON 13 JUL 2026 TENNIS

Jannik Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon men's final, with the Princess of Wales presenting the winner's trophy. The Princess of Wales was accompanied by Prince William and two of their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to witness the match at the All England Club. Prince Louis did not attend the event.

Zverev's appearance in the final marked a significant achievement for the German player, making him the first German man to reach a Wimbledon final since Boris Becker. The loss came one month after Zverev lifted the Roland Garros title, meaning he had advanced to his second Grand Slam final of the season. Sinner, ranked world No. 1, was supported throughout the match by his player box, which comprised his coaches, backroom staff and family members.

Sinner's victory represents a successful defence of the title, as he pursued back-to-back Wimbledon championships at Centre Court. The win adds to his record as the world's leading player heading into the latter stages of the season.
