ENGLAND FACES DEFEAT AS KNIGHT AND BEAUMONT PLAY FINAL INNINGS

England faced defeat in a Test match at Lord's as Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight fell cheaply in what is their final innings for the national team. India moved closer to victory as England's batting order struggled against the visiting side's bowling attack. The match represents the end of an era for both players, who have been mainstays of the England women's cricket team.

Beaumont and Knight have been central figures in English women's cricket for an extended period. Their departures coincide with this Test match at Lord's, one of cricket's most prestigious venues. The timing of their farewell match, against India, saw both players unable to contribute significantly to their team's total in what will be their last international appearances for England.

England's loss would mark a disappointing conclusion to the international careers of both Beaumont and Knight. The result remains to be confirmed, with India's position suggesting they will secure victory. Their retirements conclude lengthy international careers representing England women's cricket.
