MAN ARRESTED AFTER WOMAN KILLED IN WEST LONDON STABBING
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a stabbing in west London on Sunday morning. Metropolitan Police officers attended a property on Uxbridge Road in Hayes after an emergency call at 7.55am and found a 24-year-old woman with stab injuries. A man in his 20s was discovered outside the property also bearing stab injuries. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by emergency services.
The arrested man was located nearby matching the suspect's description and taken into custody. He was held on suspicion of murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place. The man was also taken to hospital with injuries that police believe resulted from jumping from a window. The condition of the injured man in his 20s remained unclear as police awaited an update.
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo stated that enquiries were in early stages and police did not believe there posed any wider threat to the public. He added that both victims and their families were being supported by specialist officers. Police said residents could expect increased presence in the area over the coming days.
