FERY TARGETS ZVEREV SERVE TO REACH WIMBLEDON FINAL

FRI 10 JUL 2026 CRIME

Arthur Fery will face Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon semi-finals on Centre Court. Fery, a wildcard entrant, has reached the semi-finals after victories against opponents including Grigor Dimitrov and Flavio Cobolli. Zverev is the reigning French Open champion and stands 6ft 6in tall, nine inches taller than Fery. Tactical analysis suggests Fery must excel in specific areas to progress to the final.

Fery's first-serve accuracy across his five matches at Wimbledon has exceeded 60%, though analysts suggest improving this to approximately 70% would increase pressure on Zverev's return. Fery has won more than half the points played on his opponents' second serve during the tournament. On serve and volley play, Fery has won 15 of 19 points in such exchanges, and has won 149 of 230 points at the net overall, representing a 65% success rate. Zverev typically stands approximately six feet behind the baseline when returning, creating opportunities for Fery to attack with wide serves and advance to the net.

Fery's return game has been strong, with recorded data showing he has returned 70% of balls into play across his five matches. His performance against Cobolli in the quarter-finals demonstrated net play strength, winning 77% of points at the net in that match. Analysts also note that Zverev has altered his baseline positioning at Wimbledon compared to the French Open, standing closer to the baseline, which may affect his second-serve tactics. The semi-final is scheduled for Centre Court.
