LITTLER TO DEFEND WORLD MATCHPLAY TITLE IN BLACKPOOL

TUE 07 JUL 2026 DARTS/SNOOKER

Luke Littler will attempt to win back-to-back World Matchplay titles when the tournament takes place later this month at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Littler is the reigning world champion and heads the field for this year's event. The tournament will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. A star-studded field of players has been confirmed for the competition.

The World Matchplay is held annually at the Winter Gardens venue in Blackpool. Littler's defence of his title comes after his victory in the previous year's tournament. The specific dates and full draw for the event have been confirmed, with the competition set to feature leading players from the professional darts circuit.

The Winter Gardens will host the tournament as it has done in previous years. Sky Sports will provide live coverage throughout the event. Littler's bid to retain his title represents one of the headline storylines as the competition approaches.
