FEDERER ATTENDS THREE MATCHES AT WIMBLEDON CENTRE COURT

TUE 07 JUL 2026 TENNIS

Roger Federer attended three matches at Wimbledon Centre Court on Monday, according to reports. The former world number one was present for the fourth-round clash between Jasmine Paolini and Alexandra Eala, which Paolini won 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Federer then watched the encounter between Grigor Dimitrov and Arthur Fery, a five-set match lasting three hours and 55 minutes that Dimitrov won 7-5, 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6. He remained at the venue for the fourth-round match between Alexander Zverev and Jiri Lehecka, which began at 8:50 PM BST following a significant delay caused by the Dimitrov-Fery match.

Federer's presence in the Royal Box during the Zverev-Lehecka encounter drew particular attention because most invited guests had not attended due to the scheduling delay. Only four people sat in the Royal Box during that match, with Federer positioned alone in the front row whilst three others occupied the back. Paolini, who won her earlier match, expressed gratitude to Federer for attending. The eight-time Wimbledon champion has maintained regular attendance at the tournament since retiring from professional tennis.

The Zverev-Lehecka match was suspended due to curfew regulations and will resume in the third set on Tuesday, according to reports. Federer's sustained involvement at Wimbledon reflects his continued connection to the tournament. His appearance across three separate matches demonstrated his engagement with professional tennis competition.
