ENGLAND LOSE SALT AND BUTTLER IN OPENING OVER AGAINST INDIA
England lost both opening batsmen in the first over of their run chase against India in the second T20 international at Old Trafford. Phil Salt and Jos Buttler fell to bowler Arshdeep Singh as England reached 1-2 whilst chasing a target of 191 runs to win.
The early losses represented a significant setback to England's batting effort. Both openers departing in the opening over left England in a precarious position early in their innings. The dismissals came from consecutive deliveries bowled by Singh, who struck immediately after India's innings concluded.
England faced the challenge of recovering from the two-wicket loss with their chase still in its opening phase. The remaining batting order would be required to rebuild from the position of 1-2 to mount a competitive pursuit of India's total. The match continued at Old Trafford with England's middle order tasked with steadying the innings.
