GLOVER LEADS JOHN DEERE CLASSIC AFTER 65

Lucas Glover extended his advantage at the John Deere Classic on Friday, firing a 6-under 65 to build a two-shot lead. Glover followed his opening-round 63 with the second-round score, maintaining his position at the top of the leaderboard in Illinois.

Zach Johnson, an Iowa native, remained in contention after posting a seven-under 64 in Thursday's opening round. Johnson's round featured an eagle-birdie finish that positioned him one shot behind Glover. Johnson opted to skip three major championships to compete in the John Deere Classic.

The tournament continued into the weekend with Glover holding a commanding position at the summit of the leaderboard. Wallace remained in contention as the field progressed through the event.
