BUS CRASHES THROUGH FRONT WINDOW OF NOTTING HILL HOME
A Transport for London bus struck the front of a residential property on St Quintin Avenue in Notting Hill on Thursday evening at approximately 7.15pm. The vehicle mounted the kerb and collided with street furniture before ploughing into the terraced house, damaging the stairs and dislodging windows. Two parked cars were also damaged in the collision. No injuries were reported and no one at the scene required medical treatment.
London Fire Brigade received the emergency call at 7.12pm and attended with crews from North Kensington, Hammersmith, Chelsea and Croydon fire stations. The incident concluded for firefighters by 8.03pm after the scene was made safe. London Ambulance Service sent a paramedic in a fast response car following a call at 7.14pm, confirming that no treatment was needed on site.
Johnny Thalassites, lead member for resident services, planning and enforcement at Kensington and Chelsea Council, said officers including dangerous structure engineers had been deployed to assess the damage to the property. Council officials anticipated that an investigation would establish the cause of the collision. Transport for London and the Metropolitan Police were contacted for comment on the incident.
