CHRISTIAN HORNER SET TO RETURN TO F1 PADDOCK AT SILVERSTONE

FRI 03 JUL 2026 INTERNATIONAL

Christian Horner is expected to attend this weekend's British Grand Prix, marking his first visit to a Formula One paddock since his departure from Red Bull. Horner was relieved of his duties as Red Bull team principal in 2024, approximately 48 hours after the previous year's race at Silverstone. He has not been present in an F1 paddock since that time, according to the Press Association.

During his 20-year tenure at Red Bull, Horner oversaw eight drivers' world championships and six constructors' titles. He was dismissed following allegations of inappropriate behaviour by a female colleague; he consistently denied these claims and was twice exonerated by an independent King's Counsel. Horner has stated he possesses "unfinished business" in the sport and that his departure did not occur in the manner he preferred.

Horner has been linked with several teams regarding a potential return, including Alpine, Aston Martin and Chinese manufacturer BYD. Alpine confirmed earlier this year that Horner was among investors interested in acquiring Otro Capital's 24 per cent shareholding in the Enstone team, with Renault Group holding the remaining 76 per cent stake. However, Renault Group CEO François Provost told the Press Association in Monaco last month that there are "no discussions" with Horner. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff stated in March that Horner's return could be hindered by consequences of "having broken a lot of glass" during his two decades in Formula One.
