SSE AIRTRICITY RAISES ELECTRICITY BILLS BY 6.2%

SSE Airtricity announced an increase to electricity bills of 6.2%, equivalent to approximately £71.57 per customer annually. The price rise represents an increase of roughly 20p per day on household bills. The announcement comes as energy suppliers across the sector continue to adjust pricing structures.

The increase affects SSE Airtricity's customer base across its operating regions. Energy bills have remained a significant household expense for consumers in recent years. Suppliers have cited various factors including wholesale market conditions and infrastructure costs when justifying price adjustments to customers.

SSE Airtricity did not confirm the effective date of the increase in the available information. Customers affected by the change may wish to review their energy supplier options or contact SSE Airtricity directly for further details on how the adjustment applies to their individual circumstances. The move follows similar announcements from other major energy providers adjusting their tariffs.
