FRI 03 JUL 2026 W FOOTBALL

Arsenal have signed England midfielder Georgia Stanway from Bayern Munich. Stanway, 27, departs Bavaria after a four-year spell during which she won eight trophies in the Bundesliga. Arsenal coach Renee Slegers said Stanway would "add a new dimension to our midfield, bringing experience and adding to our winning mentality."

Stanway left Manchester City for Bayern Munich in 2022, having won the WSL title, three FA Cups and three League Cups with the English club. At international level, she has scored 33 goals in 93 appearances for England and featured prominently in the Lionesses' Women's European Championship victories in 2022 and 2025. Stanway stated that Arsenal represents "the right place" for her ambitions to win trophies and develop as a player.

Slegers confirmed that Stanway will participate in pre-season training ahead of what Arsenal describe as "a big campaign ahead." The signing adds attacking midfield depth to Arsenal's Women's Super League squad as the club pursues further silverware.
