LISA FAULKNER REVEALS BREAST CANCER DIAGNOSIS AND SURGERY

FRI 03 JUL 2026 DISEASE

Actress Lisa Faulkner has disclosed that she underwent surgery after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. Faulkner, known for roles in EastEnders and Holby City, shared news of her health journey with her Instagram followers on Thursday, stating the procedure took place two weeks prior. She remains scheduled to receive radiotherapy in the coming weeks but reported feeling "so much better" following the operation.

Faulkner described the surgery as substantial and confirmed that medical teams removed all detected cancer. She stated results showed the cancer had been fully extracted and that no further malignancy remained. Faulkner attributed the early detection to a mammogram screening and encouraged others not to delay such check-ups, saying the cancer would not have been identified without the scan. She expressed gratitude to the NHS for providing the screening and subsequent early treatment.

Faulkner's announcement follows a similar disclosure by broadcaster Davina McCall, who reported receiving the all-clear following breast cancer surgery in 2024. McCall also underwent separate surgery that year to remove a benign brain tumour and has since narrated a short film about Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital. Both cases underscore the role of screening in identifying cancer at earlier stages when treatment outcomes typically improve.
