ISIS CONVICT TRAVELLED TO BRITAIN ON SMALL BOAT AFTER TIKTOK VIDEO

Mohammed Yaseen, a man convicted of involvement with ISIS, travelled to Britain by small boat after watching a TikTok video stating the country accepts asylum seekers, a court heard. Yaseen, 35, had previously been in France but chose to leave because he "did not like it" there. The court was told he came to Britain following the social media content he had viewed.

Yaseen's case centres on his presence in Iraq during a period when he attended beheadings and public floggings, according to evidence presented to the court. His arrival in Britain via small boat places him among thousands of migrants who have crossed the English Channel using that route in recent years. The circumstances of his journey and the role of social media in his decision to travel form part of the prosecution's case against him.

The case raises questions about how extremist individuals navigate migration routes and the influence of online content on their movements. Yaseen's prosecution continues through the courts, where further evidence regarding his conduct in Iraq and his subsequent arrival in Britain will be examined. The court proceedings remain ongoing.
