REES-ZAMMIT REVERTS TO WALES WING FOR FIJI TEST

Wales head coach Steve Tandy has named Louis Rees-Zammit on the wing for the Nations Championship opener against Fiji. Tandy made six changes to the squad that defeated Barbarians in the previous match. Rees-Zammit's selection marks a positional shift after his recent time in a different role. The team selection reflects Tandy's tactical approach for the championship fixture.

The Nations Championship represents a new tournament format for international rugby union. Wales enters the competition following a warm-up victory against Barbarians, which provided match fitness and team cohesion ahead of the tournament. Tandy's decision to make multiple alterations indicates he views the Fiji match as a significant test and has adjusted his squad accordingly. The six changes suggest rotation of the playing group across different positions.

Rees-Zammit's inclusion on the wing demonstrates Tandy's confidence in the player for this specific fixture against Fiji. The Nations Championship opener carries importance for Wales's early tournament standing. Tandy's squad selection will be tested when Wales faces Fiji in the opening match of the competition.
