LIVERPOOL COMPLETE £60M SIGNING OF JÉRÉMY JACQUET FROM RENNES
Liverpool completed the signing of Jérémy Jacquet from Rennes on a five-year contract, with the option of a further year. The 20-year-old centre-half joined the club for a reported fee of £60m. Liverpool defeated Chelsea and Bayern Munich in competition for the defender's signature in January.
Jacquet is currently recovering from injury and is expected to be available for the start of the season. The defender will join Liverpool's squad at Anfield following his rehabilitation. The club secured the deal after an extended negotiation period spanning several months.
The signing represents Liverpool's investment in their defensive options ahead of the forthcoming campaign. Jacquet's five-year commitment provides the club with long-term stability in that position. The option for an additional year extends the potential length of his contract.
