ASTON VILLA SIGN DENMARK STRIKER VANGSGAARD FROM JUVENTUS

Aston Villa have signed Denmark striker Amalie Vangsgaard from Juventus on an undisclosed transfer fee. Vangsgaard expressed enthusiasm about joining the Women's Super League club, stating she is "very happy and very excited for this new adventure". The 29-year-old visited Villa's training ground and said the club demonstrates strong commitment to its women's team with good facilities.

Vangsgaard scored 11 goals across 62 appearances for Juventus in Serie A. She earned her Denmark debut in 2022 and holds 46 international caps, with 14 goals for her country. She described her playing style as forward-focused, explaining she enjoys "running deep" to create chances and score goals that benefit the team.

Vangsgaard told the club she is excited by the quality of English women's football and anticipates beginning pre-season training at Aston Villa. She said visiting the training ground gave her "a really good impression" of the organisation. The signing strengthens Aston Villa's attacking options ahead of the forthcoming WSL campaign.
