FARAGE DECLARES £270,000 PAYMENT FOR GOLD BULLION PROMOTION WORK
Nigel Farage, Reform UK leader and MP for Clacton, registered a payment of £270,000 from Direct Bullion for work as a brand ambassador. The payment, declared in the MPs' register of financial interests this week, represents his largest single payment yet for work outside his parliamentary role. According to the register entry, Farage undertook an estimated four hours of work per month over a three-month period for the company. He also declared £18,402 for presenting work on GB News.
Farage's basic salary as an MP stands at just over £98,000 per year, meaning the Direct Bullion payment is nearly three times his parliamentary income. The payment from Direct Bullion is the latest in a series of declarations from the company; Farage previously registered separate payments of £91,200 in February 2025 and £135,000 in November last year. A spokesman for Farage confirmed he holds the brand ambassador role with Direct Bullion. The register entry indicates an hourly rate of approximately £22,500 for the gold bullion promotion work.
The declarations come as Farage continues to face questions regarding a £5 million gift from Thai-based billionaire Christopher Harborne. News reports have also documented that Farage owns multiple properties, including a grade-II listed property in Surrey purchased in May 2024 and a seaside property acquired through his company Thorn in the Side Ltd for £499,995 in 2020.
