TUE 30 JUN 2026 W FOOTBALL

Selma Panengstuen, a Norwegian international goalkeeper, has joined Tottenham of the Women's Super League. The 23-year-old previously played for SK Brann, a Bergen-based club. Panengstuen described the move as a "dream" transfer. Her contract length with Tottenham has not been disclosed.

Panengstuen gained prominence in 2025 whilst playing for SK Brann, which won a second league title that year under Martin Ho, now Tottenham's coach. During that campaign, she started all 27 league games and recorded 18 clean sheets. She made her Norway international debut in a friendly against Sweden in June 2025 and later played in a Women's Champions League qualifier against Manchester United. In the current Norwegian season, she has started with eight clean sheets from 11 appearances.

Ho said Panengstuen possesses "outstanding potential" and cited her shot-stopping ability, courage, communication and athleticism as valued qualities. Panengstuen stated she has friends at Tottenham who spoke positively about the club and noted the project is "going upwards". The signing adds to Tottenham's Women's Super League roster as the club continues its current season.
