JEREMY CLARKSON RETURNS TO HOST MILLIONAIRE QUIZ SHOWS

Jeremy Clarkson has been confirmed to host both Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and its spin-off Millionaire Hot Seat on ITV, following his recovery from prostate cancer. Clarkson disclosed his diagnosis on his reality programme Clarkson's Farm, describing it as aggressive. He subsequently confirmed he is in remission after receiving a clear PSA test result.

ITV has recommissioned Millionaire Hot Seat for 20 additional episodes, following its debut broadcast earlier this year. The main quiz show has been ordered for a further 15 episodes. Millionaire Hot Seat requires contestants to queue and answer questions to progress, with the prize value decreasing upon incorrect answers; contestants may pass but then return to the back of the queue. Katie Rawcliffe, ITV's director of entertainment, stated that Clarkson's hosting combined with the high-pressure gameplay format represented a winning formula.

The new episodes will be filmed later this year for broadcast on ITV and the streaming platform ITVX. The commissioning represents ITV's confidence in both the format and Clarkson's continued involvement with the broadcaster's entertainment output following his health disclosure.
