GREEK GAMING GROUP ACQUIRES WILLIAM HILL OWNER EVOKE FOR £243M
Evoke, the parent company of William Hill, has agreed to a £243 million takeover by a Greek gaming group. The acquiring entity is Bally's Intralot, a Greek-based gaming operator. The deal represents a full acquisition of Evoke and its portfolio of betting brands. Evoke's shares rose sharply following the announcement of the agreed terms.
William Hill is one of the most established betting brands in the United Kingdom, operating retail and online gambling services. Evoke became William Hill's parent company following a corporate restructuring of the business. The £243 million figure represents the agreed valuation placed on Evoke by the acquiring party. Bally's Intralot brings together gaming operations with reach across multiple international markets.
The takeover marks a significant shift in ownership for one of Britain's best-known high street bookmakers. The deal requires standard regulatory and shareholder approvals before it can complete. Once finalised, Bally's Intralot will take control of Evoke's full operations, including the William Hill brand. The transaction positions the combined group to expand its presence in the European and UK gambling markets.
