BARCELONA OFFER HALF OF MANCHESTER UNITED'S ASKING PRICE FOR RASHFORD
Barcelona have offered Manchester United £6.5 million for forward Marcus Rashford, according to reports. United's asking price stands at £13 million. United have not accepted the reduced offer. With no transfer agreement reached, Rashford is now set to return to Manchester for pre-season training. Goalkeeper Andre Onana, also linked with a potential departure, faces the same outcome.
Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Barcelona. Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly indicated Rashford had fallen out of favour at the club. Barcelona's interest in making the move permanent has not extended to matching United's valuation. The difference between the two clubs' positions is approximately £6.5 million. Onana has separately been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
Both players reporting for pre-season represents a significant development for United's squad planning ahead of the new campaign. United retain full contractual control over both players until any transfer is formally completed. Rashford would return to Amorim's squad following the reported falling out. No further talks between the clubs have been confirmed at this stage.
