MARCO SILVA DEPARTS FULHAM TO BECOME NEW BENFICA MANAGER

Fulham have confirmed the departure of head coach Marco Silva. Silva is closing in on an agreement to take charge of Benfica in Portugal. The move would see him replace José Mourinho at the Lisbon club. Fulham made the announcement official following the conclusion of negotiations.

Silva joined Fulham in 2021 and guided the club from the Championship back to the Premier League. He established Fulham as a stable top-flight side across multiple seasons in charge. Benfica parted ways with Mourinho, creating the vacancy Silva is set to fill. The Portuguese connection between Silva and Benfica adds further context to the appointment.

Silva's departure marks a significant managerial change for Fulham ahead of the next season. The club will now begin a search for his successor. Benfica are one of Portugal's largest clubs, competing regularly in the UEFA Champions League. Silva's confirmed exit from Fulham closes a chapter that included promotion and sustained Premier League consolidation.
