ROSS MCCRORIE RETURNS TO RANGERS FROM BRISTOL CITY
Ross McCrorie has rejoined Rangers after Bristol City accepted an undisclosed offer for the defender. The 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract with an option for a further year. McCrorie began his career at Rangers, making his debut in September 2017 and appearing in over 50 matches before departing the club. He has been assigned the number two shirt, previously held by James Tavernier.
McCrorie spent three seasons at Aberdeen under Derek McInnes before moving to Bristol City in summer 2023 for a reported fee of £2 million. At Ashton Gate, he made 89 appearances, including 41 in the most recent season, and has played regularly at right-back whilst also operating across the defence and in midfield. He has been capped twice for Scotland and was included in the squad for Euro 2024. Bristol City exercised an option to extend his contract in May.
McInnes, who joined Rangers from Hearts last week, signed McCrorie for Aberdeen during his tenure there. McInnes stated that McCrorie had demonstrated a commitment to improving as a player and had developed through his time away from the club. McCrorie told Rangers' media that returning to the club represented "a dream come true" and expressed his determination to win trophies.
