LIONEL RICHIE CUTS MINNESOTA SHOW SHORT AFTER DIZZY SPELL ON STAGE
Lionel Richie halted his concert in St. Paul, Minnesota on Wednesday during the opening night of his Sing a Song All Night Long tour with Earth, Wind & Fire after experiencing a dizzy spell on stage. Video footage shared on social media showed Richie completing the song "Dancing on the Ceiling" seated rather than standing. After finishing the song, Richie addressed the audience, stating that he had decided to sit down after feeling dizzy, adding that this was the first time he had performed the song whilst seated.
Following Richie's remarks to the crowd, his saxophonist Dino Soldo took the stage to announce that Richie was unwell and unable to continue the performance. Soldo thanked the audience for their patience and understanding before dismissing them. The decision to end the show came on the opening date of Richie's tour alongside Earth, Wind & Fire. Richie's representative has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident.
No information regarding future tour dates or Richie's current health status has been confirmed. The tour was scheduled to continue following Wednesday's performance in St. Paul. An update on whether subsequent shows will proceed as planned remains pending.
