JAC MORGAN RETURNS TO WALES STARTING XV FOR BARBARIANS FIXTURE
Jac Morgan will start at open-side flanker for Wales against the Barbarians at Allianz Stadium on Saturday, marking his return to international rugby after eight months out. The Ospreys forward missed eight Tests following a dislocated left shoulder sustained while scoring a try against Argentina in Steve Tandy's first match as Wales head coach in autumn. Dewi Lake retains the captaincy as hooker, whilst lock Teddy Williams plays his first fixture since suffering a dislocated right foot at a Cardiff line-out in October. Four players will make their international debuts in the uncapped fixture, which precedes the women's match at 17:00 BST.
Tandy has made eight changes to the starting line-up that defeated Italy in March. Dragons lock or flanker Ryan Woodman, back-row forward Harrison Keddie, Cardiff loose-head Rhys Barratt and Ospreys tight-head Ben Warren are named among the replacements. Josh Adams, Alex Mann and James Botham, all Cardiff players, are unavailable for the fixture. Tandy cannot select 13 members of his summer squad from clubs in England and France because the match falls outside World Rugby's official international window, though Dewi Lake, Morgan and Aaron Wainwright are available ahead of their moves to English clubs.
The Barbarians fixture represents Tandy's final preparation before trimming his squad for the Nations Championship. Wales faces Fiji at Cardiff City Stadium on 4 July, followed by fixtures against Argentina in San Juan and South Africa in Durban. Both Argentina and South Africa recorded victories at Principality Stadium during the autumn series. Tandy stated the Barbarians would "present a good challenge" for his team.
