SHADAB KHAN JOINS LANCASHIRE FOR T20 BLAST

Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has signed with Lancashire for the remainder of the T20 Blast season. The leg-spinner and lower-order batter replaces Chris Green, an Australian player ruled out for the competition after sustaining a fractured thumb earlier this month. Shadab has represented Pakistan in six Test matches and 197 white-ball games. He has previously played for Yorkshire and Sussex.

Mark Chilton, Lancashire's director of cricket, stated that the club was disappointed to lose Green but viewed Shadab's arrival as a significant boost to the squad given his experience and the short notice of the signing. Chilton highlighted the importance of the signing ahead of a crucial sequence of fixtures for the team. Lancashire currently occupy the bottom position in the North Group at the halfway stage of the competition.

Lancashire resume their T20 campaign with an away fixture against Leicestershire Foxes on Friday at 18:30 BST. Chilton's comments were published on the club's official website. The signing addresses the squad's need for depth during a challenging period in the tournament.
