SLATE AUTO ANNOUNCES PRICING FOR ELECTRIC PICKUP TRUCK

WED 24 JUN 2026

Slate Auto officially announced pricing for its Slate electric pickup truck this morning, with a base model starting at $24,950 before taxes and delivery charges. The vehicle uses a lithium iron phosphate battery pack with 63 kilowatt-hours of useable energy and a 181 horsepower electric motor driving the rear wheels. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates a range of 205 miles for the pickup configuration fitted with 17-inch steel wheels.

The truck charges from 20 to 80 per cent in 30 minutes using direct current fast charging at up to 120 kilowatts via a NACS port, or between four and 17 hours using alternating current depending on the charging method selected. Slate's online configurator allows buyers to customise the vehicle and indicates the difficulty level of self-installation for each option, along with required tools and estimated time. A fully specified work truck configuration with minimal options reaches approximately $28,594 according to configurations created using the tool.

An SUV variant of the Slate electric vehicle carries a starting price of $29,950 before taxes and delivery fees. The startup, which has received backing from Jeff Bezos, revealed these pricing details as part of its market entry strategy for electric vehicles. Ars Technica stated it would spend time with a prototype vehicle to assess the truck's specifications and gather further information about the company's offerings.
