DAN WALKER SAYS FORGIVENESS WILL TAKE TIME AFTER BULLYING CLAIMS WITHDRAWN

WED 24 JUN 2026

Television presenter Dan Walker has stated that forgiving his former co-host Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije will require time, following her withdrawal of bullying and sexism allegations against him. Vanderpuije had filed claims against Channel 5, ITN and Paramount Global, naming Walker as a respondent, alleging unfair dismissal, discrimination, harassment on grounds of race and sex, and breach of contract. She has now fully withdrawn all allegations relating to Walker and confirmed she will not repeat or pursue them. A mutual agreement was reached between Vanderpuije and both ITN and Channel 5.

Walker described the period as "three terrible years" and stated he had been prepared to defend himself at an employment tribunal. According to Walker, he received over 100 unsolicited character references from former colleagues and Olympians during the dispute. The presenter expressed relief that the matter had concluded, acknowledging the considerable stress the situation had caused him.

Walker said that whilst the case is now resolved, achieving forgiveness for the accusations would be a challenging process moving forward. He indicated his intention to move on from the dispute. The withdrawal of claims represents a full conclusion to the legal proceedings between the parties.
