KATE GARRAWAY SAYS SHE'D ALLOW DAUGHTER ON LOVE ISLAND
Kate Garraway, presenter of Good Morning Britain, has said she would permit her daughter Darcey to participate in ITV's dating show Love Island and that she would consider appearing on the programme herself. Garraway shares Darcey, aged 20, and William, aged 16, with her late husband Derek Draper, who died in 2024. Love Island is currently broadcasting its 13th season on ITV2, with contestants residing in a villa in Majorca. Garraway told Digital Spy that Darcey has stated she will not take part in the show.
Garraway cited two reasons for not joining the programme herself. She noted that the show's clothing requirements—bikinis and swim trunks—presented a personal barrier, stating she is "not really bikini ready". The show features challenges including a Heart Rate contest in which contestants perform lap dances in attempts to raise each other's heart rates. Additionally, Garraway indicated that she is no longer available for such a venture, having begun a relationship with economist Liam Halligan.
Garraway and Halligan's romance became public in May when she attended a charity cycling event in his support. When asked about the relationship at the Chelsea Flower Show, she described it as "lovely" but expressed reluctance to discuss details further. She stated that the couple had "barely had much time together" for dates and that she did not wish to speak publicly for fear of "jinxing" the relationship.
