MOSHE KASHER REVEALS TONSIL CANCER DIAGNOSIS AFTER THROAT SURGERY
Moshe Kasher, who plays Samuel Jacob in the HBO medical drama The Pitt, has revealed that he underwent surgery after being diagnosed with tonsil cancer. Kasher disclosed the diagnosis in an Instagram post on 21 June, stating that he discovered a lump in his throat whilst filming a new film. He posted an image showing a bandage on his neck and described the experience as "the most terrifying and consciousness-consuming experience of my life". Kasher noted that the surgical procedure has resulted in visible scarring to his neck.
The actor said the cancer surgery carries an "incredibly high" success rate, expressing hope despite being in pain following the procedure. He made light of his condition in the post, remarking that the scar would deter physical confrontation. Kasher's decision to share his diagnosis publicly came shortly after the surgery took place. He did not provide further details regarding his treatment plan or recovery timeline in the post.
Kasher continues in his role on The Pitt, which is broadcast on HBO. The actor's disclosure adds to a series of health-related announcements made by public figures in recent weeks. His openness about his cancer diagnosis may serve to raise awareness of the condition among viewers of the drama series.
