LIVERPOOL REJECT INTER MILAN'S £21.7M OFFER FOR CURTIS JONES

SUN 21 JUN 2026 FOOTBALL

Liverpool have rejected a verbal offer of 25m euros (£21.7m) from Inter Milan for midfielder Curtis Jones. The Italian club's proposal falls significantly short of the £35m valuation set by Liverpool, who are unwilling to permit a discounted sale. Jones, who has one year remaining on his contract at Anfield, is the subject of Inter's second approach this year.

Inter Milan previously expressed interest in Jones during January, proposing a loan arrangement with a view to a permanent transfer, which Liverpool declined. Piero Ausilio, Inter's sporting director, stated publicly this month that the club was monitoring Jones's situation. Federico Chiesa, an Inter player, told Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport that Jones had asked him about living in Italy. Jones joined Liverpool's academy at the age of nine and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2018.

Liverpool's stance indicates the club will only consider selling Jones if a bidder meets their full asking price. The midfielder's contract situation, with just twelve months remaining, may influence how negotiations develop. Inter's continued pursuit suggests the Serie A club remains committed to acquiring Jones, though they have not yet matched Liverpool's financial demands.
