JING YAN LEADS MEIJER LPGA CLASSIC AFTER SECOND ROUND
Jing Yan shot a score of 6-under 66 in the second round of the Meijer LPGA Classic to take the lead. The tournament is held at Blythefield Country Club, a 72-par course. The event forms part of the LPGA Tour calendar and is in its 12th edition in 2026. Yan's round positioned her ahead of the field as play continued.
The Meijer LPGA Classic purse for 2026 stands at $3.25 million, an increase from $3 million in the previous year. The winner will receive $487,500, whilst the runner-up earns $306,559 and third place $222,385. Winners also receive 500 Race to CME Globe points, which contribute to the season-long standings. All golfers who make the cut are entitled to Rolex Rankings points, though the exact distribution has not been disclosed.
The tournament's increased investment reflects broader growth across the LPGA Tour in 2026. The CME Group Tour Championship, the season finale, features an $11 million prize pool with the winner taking home $4 million. The top 60 golfers after The ANNIKA in November 2026 become eligible for that championship event. Carlota Ciganda won the 2025 edition, earning $450,000 from that year's purse.
