THREE PEOPLE DIE IN WEST LONDON FIRE AT WHITE CITY
Three people died following a fire in a single storey pavilion on New Zealand Way in White City, west London, according to the London Fire Brigade. The fire service received reports of the blaze at 6.52 pm on Saturday evening. Firefighters rescued three men from the building and treated them at the scene, near Loftus Road, home to Queens Park Rangers Football Club. Two of the three were declared dead at the scene, whilst the third died later in hospital after being transferred for further treatment.
The London Fire Brigade mobilised 15 fire engines and approximately 100 firefighters from North Kensington, Acton, Chiswick and surrounding stations to the incident. Firefighters brought the fire under control by 9.25 pm. Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne said the fire damaged just over half of the pavilion structure. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Brigade's specialist fire investigation officers and the Metropolitan Police Service.
