MEXICO BEATS SOUTH KOREA TO SECURE WORLD CUP KNOCKOUT SPOT

Mexico defeated South Korea 1-0 in Guadalajara to become the first nation to qualify for the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup. The hosts secured the victory following a goalkeeping error by Seung-Gyu Kim. Mexico's qualification came through the knockout stages of the tournament.

South Korea conceded the match's only goal as a result of Kim's mistake in goal. The fixture took place in Guadalajara as part of World Cup group-stage play. Mexico's early qualification reflects their position as tournament hosts.
