HAMPSHIRE OPENERS SET ONE-DAY CUP RECORD IN 10-WICKET WIN

Hampshire defeated Essex by 10 wickets in a One-Day Cup match on 17 June 2026, with opening batters Maia Bouchier and Ella McCaughan sharing an unbroken partnership of 246 runs. Bouchier scored 136 from 114 balls, including 18 fours and two sixes, whilst McCaughan made 104 from 115 balls with 13 boundaries. Hampshire chased down their target with more than 11 overs remaining. The partnership set a record for any wicket in the One-Day Cup competition.

Essex had reached 245 all out after Hampshire's spinners Bex Tyson and Amanda-Jade Wellington took five wickets between them. Liberty Heap made 75 and Jo Gardner contributed 56, but these efforts proved insufficient to defend the total. Bouchier had previously scored 87 against Essex in a Twenty20 match between the sides ten days earlier. This represented her second significant performance against the same opposition in a brief span.

Elsewhere in the competition, The Blaze, the league leaders, suffered a 28-run defeat to Lancashire, who occupy the bottom position in the group standings. Fi Morris took four wickets and scored a half-century to guide Lancashire to 239 all out, which they successfully defended as The Blaze made 211 all out. Tammy Beaumont scored 64 for The Blaze in the unsuccessful chase. Warwickshire defeated Somerset by seven wickets inside 22 overs, whilst Yorkshire overcame Durham by six wickets.
