RYANAIR FLIGHT DEPARTS ATHENS WITHOUT PASSENGERS STUCK IN PASSPORT QUEUE

A Ryanair flight from Athens to Luton departed without a number of passengers who remained held up at passport control. The aircraft left whilst travellers were still queuing to clear border checks at Athens airport. Passengers described themselves as "angry" about being stranded. The incident highlights delays at the airport's passport control facilities.

The flight was scheduled to travel from Athens to Luton Airport in London. Passengers unable to board missed their connection due to congestion at the airport's passport control area. The delay at border checks prevented travellers from reaching the departure gate in time. Airport passport control queues have created significant disruption for departing passengers.

Ryanair has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident or confirmed what support was offered to affected passengers. The circumstances surrounding how long passengers waited at passport control remain unclear. The incident raises questions about capacity and efficiency at Athens airport's border control operations during peak travel periods.
