DANNY RÖHL LEAVES RANGERS FOR RB SALZBURG

Rangers confirmed the departure of Danny Röhl to RB Salzburg by mutual agreement. Röhl, who became head coach in October, will take charge of the Austrian Bundesliga side following a seven-figure compensation package agreed between the clubs. Performance manager Sascha Lense and first-team analyst Tristan Steiner will also leave Ibrox. Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh said the departing staff had demonstrated significant commitment during their time at the club.

Röhl inherited a Rangers side in the bottom six and improved their position to bring them into title contention. His tenure saw a downturn in form towards the season's end, with Rangers losing four consecutive matches after the split and finishing third. Derek McInnes, the Hearts manager and former Rangers player, is heavily linked with the vacant position at Ibrox. McInnes previously declined the opportunity to manage Rangers in 2017.

Rangers stated that a further update on the managerial vacancy would follow in due course. Steven Gerrard has also been linked with the post, having managed the club previously. No formal appointment has been confirmed at this stage.
