CAM JORDAN SIGNS FINAL CONTRACT WITH SAINTS FOR 16TH SEASON
Cam Jordan has signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints and indicated he will treat the 2026 season as his final year in the National Football League. The defensive end made the announcement at the Saints facility on 17 June following the signing. Jordan stated at the press conference that he would be "treating it like it's [his] final season" and questioned how many more years he wished to play. He will turn 37 during the upcoming campaign.
Jordan has spent all 15 of his NFL seasons with the Saints, joining the franchise in 2011. The defensive end has appeared in 242 of 243 games during his tenure, establishing himself as one of the league's most durable performers. His career statistics with New Orleans include 132 sacks, 175 tackles-for-loss and eight Pro Bowl selections alongside three All-Pro honours. Last season, Jordan recorded 10.5 sacks and 47 total tackles whilst playing just over half of the team's total defensive snaps.
Upon retirement, Jordan will become the longest-tenured player in Saints history, surpassing Drew Brees' previous record. He requires only three additional sacks to strengthen his Hall of Fame candidacy, according to available analysis. Jordan previously told Sky Sports in February that he had never been without a contract throughout his entire career.
