TAKE THAT CIRCUS TOUR FEATURES TIGHTROPE WALKER AT CARDIFF STADIUM
Take That will perform at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Tuesday as part of their rebooted Circus Live tour. The show will feature acrobats, ringmasters, tightrope walkers and a mechanical elephant. Ellis Grover, a tightrope walker from Carmarthen, will perform unstrapped between two stages with a six-metre drop beneath him. Grover described the opportunity as an honour.
Grover has worked as a high wire walker for 15 years and noted that only a small number of such performers currently operate in the United Kingdom. The Circus Live tour previously visited the Principality Stadium in 2009 when it was known as the Millennium Stadium, with Take That performing three nights at that time. The current tour has already passed through Southampton, Sunderland, Coventry and Glasgow before arriving in Wales. Take That, comprising Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, stated previously that the Circus tour represented one of their favourite experiences as a band.
The band will release their 10th studio album towards the end of 2026. Grover said he maintains his performance ability through body maintenance, warm-ups, stretching and rest days. He expressed a desire to undertake additional wire walks in large natural spaces following the conclusion of the tour. Grover stated that he valued the art form for its capacity to create striking visual compositions within theatrical settings.
